Meet The Coaches Breakfast 7/30

Saturday July 30, 2011 was our annual Meet the Coaches breakfast.  This is where the players and the parents have the opportunity to meet the staff for each of the divisions.  You start out by waiting in line so that your player can get his name checked and receive his ticket for his free breakfast and the parents can pay their $3.00 for their breakfast.  I have to admit that although $3.00 is not a great lot of money, I was a little shocked that a breakfast jack was going to cost us $3.00, when you can get one at Jack in the Box for $.99.  I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that we had coffee from Starbucks for starters.  Our breakfast was either a muffin, bagel of danish, then either breakfast jack or a cup of cereal and a cup of either apple juice or orange juice.  It was a fair amount of food for the $3.00.

After breakfast, we all settled into our chairs, in the hot sun and waited for them to get the microphone figured out and working.  They introduced the board members and the coaches.  After the question and answer session, we all broke off into our groups and took the parents and kids off to the side to discuss the coming season and what they can expect with practice and such.  All in all it was a pretty good day!  I just hope the kids are ready for hell week, especially the first year kids.
