CODE ADAM

With being as busy as we have since the start of hell week for McKenzy’s football, I almost forgot to share out Amber Alert story.  After the Meet the Coaches Breakfast, we headed to Walmart to pick up a few things that we needed for the upcoming season and then decided to look at Blue Ray movies while we were there.  We were leaving the sporting goods section and headed toward electronics.  In between the two is the toys department.  The one section that I usually RUN past because this is where you can find all the crying and screaming kids!  This time we casually strolled by and saw this cute little girl probably about 4-5 years old and she was carrying a pair of boys swim trunks.  What caught our eye was the sass in her step.  She definitely had an IMBAWSI attitude which was funny because Danny even said, “man are all girls like that, no matter what the age” or something along those lines.  I laughed and felt proud even though this was not my child and I could not take credit for raising her with a ‘tude.  We arrive in the electronics section, look around a bit, realize they don’t have crap and decide to check out with what we have and head on to our next errand.  Just as we leave electronics, we hear over the loud speaker “attention, we have a code Adam” (or whatever they say) and then they gave the description.  HOLY SHIT, Danny and I both say outloud.  It was the little girl with the sass in her step.  We start running towards sporting goods because that is about the last place we saw her.  Danny was running faster than I was because I for one am too old and out of shape and all I had in my was my hop-a-long.  As we are making our way through the aisles looking for her we are yelling to the staff that we had just seen her just mere minutes earlier so she could not have gone too far.  So now it is Danny, me and some staff members running and hoping-a-long the aisles looking for her.  Danny finds her and wants to grab her, but afraid that he will be busted and so he kind of just stands there so that she cannot go anywhere.  A staff member came and got her and radio’d to the front that they had her and took her back to her loser parents that lost her in the first place.  All was well and it was a happy ending to a Code Adam and Danny has been very proud of himself since that day.  Not that he ever needs a reason, this is the same guy that stands and stares at himself in the mirror!
